Founded in 1762 by Jonathan Hager, Hagerstown has evolved into a thriving community of Washington County. Hagerstown has much to offers its residents. Beautiful natural surroundings, gourmet dining, unique architecture and a strong part in the country’s history all contribute to the charm of Hagerstown. Located all throughout Washington County, parks, monuments and museums all tell different stories of America’s history. Hagerstown and Washington County are also blessed with nationally recognized, award winning schools. Also located in Hagerstown are Hagerstown Business College and Hagerstown Junior College.
The annual Western Maryland Blues Fest is a summer highlight for Hagerstown residents and blues loving visitors. Held for three days in June, it is a festive stage for nationally recognized as well as new and local blues musicians. For children the festival also hosts extensive children’s events and all enjoy the festival’s delectable feasting.
